 Wheelchair Zone Lead – Salary 13.5 USD Per Hour + Delta Flight Benefits.

Description

Responsibilities: 

  • The Lead Agent position is a working, supervisory position and Leads Agents perform wheelchair duties as follows:

  • Assists and transports passengers requiring wheelchair assistance at the airport to/from gate.

  • Carefully lifts special needs passengers up/down stairs of aircraft and in/out of wheelchairs in a safe manner.

  • Reads appropriate paperwork to identify name, flight information, date and special service request details to ensure special needs passengers are taken to the correct destination.

  • Assists special needs passengers in transporting and claiming personal belongings and baggage.

  • Reads the airport monitors to check arriving and departing information and sets up gate for incoming passengers who need special assistance.

  • Greets and escorts special needs passengers in a friendly and courteous manner.

  • Uses PAXTrack system to report pick up and drop off of special needs passengers.

  • Communicates instructions and special services to gate agent or other personnel for passengers requiring special needs.

  • Gathers wheelchairs in the concourse and returns them to the staging area for usage.

  • May assist in arranging for ground transportation.

  • All other duties as assigned

 Qualifications 

  • No experience necessary

  • Must be able to understand documents, learn and follow ticketing procedures, and other rules and regulations.

  • Have the flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

  • Must be able to lift/carry / push/pull and move items of 70 pounds and/or more on a regular basis and repetitively lift weights of 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces.

  • Must be able to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop on a frequent basis and for extended periods.

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

  • Ability to pass up to a 10-year background check.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must have the authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

  • Must complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security.
