Opportunity ATL’s Opportunity Match program hosted a recruitment webinar with CKS Packaging, Inc. on Thursday, March 11th. It was an informative webinar about CKS’s unique role as a Second Chance Employer.

Additionally, it highlighted several entry-level positions in manufacturing at the Fulton Industrial Boulevard facility in Atlanta.

Starting pay ranges from $12-$13/hr and includes benefits. It is currently hiring for 2nd and 3rd shifts: 3 PM - 11 PM and 11 PM to 7 AM.

Opportunity ATL’s Opportunity Match program was delighted to partner with Enterprise Holdings for an informative webinar regarding 25+ open positions at their three core companies: Alamo, Enterprise and National.

Opportunity ATL hosted an informative lunchtime panel on Wednesday, January 26th on how to virtually conduct a job search with employers from Amazon, Hertz, and Truist. Each panelist has a background in Human Resources and spoke to similarities and differences of a traditional job search compared to job searching using Zoom and other virtual platforms.

The three main themes were:

  1. Preparing for a virtual job search

  2. The importance and tips for online networking

  3. How to virtually interview successfully.

Soft Skills - What Jobseekers Need to Know

OpportunityATL hosted a webinar on December 3rd, 2020 on the importance of soft skills with employer panelists from Amazon, Sodexo, and Synovus. Each panelist has a background in Human Resources and spoke to the importance of soft skills both during the interview process and after being hired.

The top soft skill for these three employers are:

  1. Adaptability

  2. Team Player

  3. Empathy

How do you convey these intangible skills in an interview? How do you use technology to your advantage? What skill is the most important?

Of the different soft skills that were mentioned, 2020 seemed to elicit the reiteration of adaptability. Across the three employers, the ability to adjust to new circumstances could not be more important in any workplace environment.
